At Soccer iQ, we are committed to helping student-athletes grow not only as soccer players but as well-rounded, healthy individuals prepared for the next level of their sport. This fall, we are proud to launch our Strength Training Program, led by the highly respected Dr. Mark Cipolla, Ph.D., a performance coach with a proven background in sports science, human performance, and athlete development.
Why Dr. Mark Cipolla?
Dr. Cipolla brings decades of expertise in exercise physiology, biomechanics, and athletic training. He has worked with athletes across multiple sports, helping them improve their strength, agility, recovery, and injury prevention strategies. With a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology and a professional track record rooted in research and applied sports performance, Dr. Cipolla is uniquely positioned to guide Soccer iQ athletes toward measurable growth.
What sets him apart is his customized, data-driven approach. Every Soccer iQ athlete will benefit from personalized training plans through the Trainerize app, ensuring progress is tracked and workouts are adapted to each player’s needs. On top of that, Dr. Cipolla will visit Soccer iQ in person twice a month to evaluate athletes, make adjustments, and ensure every student is on the right path.
Tech Meets Training
Soccer iQ is proud to integrate cutting-edge sports technology into our player development model. From Metric Mate’s performance analytics to REZZIL VR’s cognitive and decision-making training, and Trainerize’s personalized programming, our student-athletes will have access to a 360° performance development system. This data-driven approach not only supports training but also gives parents clear assessments to see measurable growth over time.
The Importance of Age-Appropriate Strength Training
A common misconception is that middle school and high school athletes should wait until they are older to begin strength training. In reality, age-appropriate strength training is critical for youth athletes. Properly supervised programs help improve:
Injury Prevention: Building strength in muscles, tendons, and ligaments reduces the risk of common soccer-related injuries such as ACL tears and ankle sprains.
Performance: Stronger athletes sprint faster, jump higher, and maintain endurance more effectively on the field.
Confidence: Athletes who feel physically prepared enter competition with more self-assurance.
Healthy Habits: Early exposure to structured strength training encourages lifelong fitness habits.
By pairing technical soccer training with guided strength development, Soccer iQ ensures our players are not only skilled but resilient, strong, and ready for the demands of the game at higher levels.
This program represents the ultimate whole package for any aspiring soccer player looking to develop their craft, stay injury-free, and maximize their potential.
